Chevrolet’s electric car Bolt, which was said to be discontinued…is it being revived?
[Daily Car Reporter Park Kyung-soo] There has been a report that the Chevrolet Bolt, which had solidified its position in the early days of the electric vehicle market but was discontinued, may be revived.
The U.S. CNBC broadcast reported on the 10th that “General Motors (GM) may not discontinue the Chevrolet Bolt.”
According to the report, GM CEO Mary Barra said, “Chevrolet Bolt appears to still be in demand. “Instead of discontinuing this car, we will release an updated version equipped with Ultium Cells batteries,” he said.
As GM’s electric vehicle production falls short of expectations, the company is turning its attention to its existing best-selling electric vehicle models.
In fact, GM produced 50,000 electric vehicles in North America in the first half of the year, but most of the production was the older Chevrolet Bolt model, which had announced that production would be discontinued at the end of the year.
However, CEO Mary Barra did not mention the release date and price of the next-generation Bolt.
