Introducing Civ Dog: The New Mascot for Civilization VII in Japan

2K Japan and Firaxis have officially unveiled Civ Dog, a charming new mascot designed to represent Sid Meier’s upcoming game, Civilization VII. This character, depicted in an adorable chibi style, is inspired by the dogs accompanying the Scouts recon unit in the beloved franchise.

The Role of Civ Dog in Promotion

Civ Dog is set to feature prominently across various promotional channels aimed at promoting Civilization VII in Japan. You can expect to see him in official social media posts and videos that highlight the game’s features and storyline. Interestingly, Civ Dog’s name can also be interpreted in Japanese as “Shiv Inu,” cleverly referencing the Shiba Inu, a popular Japanese dog breed.

Civ Dog’s Character Traits and Hobbies

According to 2K Japan and Firaxis, Civ Dog is an adventurous character who loves to travel year-round. He becomes particularly enthusiastic when he discovers a Wonder or Cultural Heritage site. However, he is also known to be quite protective of his territory, showing a territorial streak that prevents outsiders from entering his space.

In addition to exploring, Civ Dog enjoys a variety of hobbies. He uses a dowsing stick shaped like the number 7 to gather resources and often creates quizzes based on historical events and cultural heritage to unwind after a day of adventures.
