Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have officially unveiled the extensive character lineup for the upcoming title Dynasty Warriors Origins. This eagerly anticipated release promises to deliver a dynamic experience by showcasing 47 unique combatants—representing half of the total roster from Dynasty Warriors 9, which boasted 94 characters.
Character Highlights and Revelations
Producer Tomohiko Sho shared the details through the series’ official X account, where fans learned that a total of 47 “Musou Officers” will be featured in Origins. The initial character reveals included 16 familiar faces, with 9 being playable companions, showcased on the game’s website. The excitement around character unveils grew as the team shared additional combatants daily, beginning with an older version of Gan Ning on October 10, 2024, and culminating with a younger rendition of Zhuge Liang on November 9, 2024.
Voice Acting and Character Depictions
Fans were keen to note that while some characters introduced during the Tokyo Game Show 2024 featured new Japanese voice actors, many returned to their original vocal portrayals. Notably, Ling Tong will be voiced posthumously by Taiki Matsuno, who had completed all his voice lines prior to his passing in late June 2024. Contrarily, Hirohiko Kakegawa will not reprise his roles for this new installment; Zhang Fei and Taishi Ci will now be brought to life by Kohei Fukuhara and Joichiro Ohtsuki, respectively.
