Atlus has officially announced on its Japanese website and through Studio Zero’s X account that the worldwide sales of Metaphor: ReFantazio have surpassed 1 million units. This total includes both physical copies shipped and digital downloads across all platforms, namely Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
This announcement coincided perfectly with the game’s launch on October 11, 2024, highlighting that this impressive figure includes not only physical shipments but also digital pre-orders for Metaphor: ReFantazio, contributing to its rapid achievement of 1 million units sold.
To mark this achievement, a new illustration featuring Gallica was released, emblazoned with Japanese text that enthusiastically states: “1 million units surpassed worldwide! Thank you!!”
Atlus also proudly shared that Metaphor: ReFantazio has received excellent Metacritic ratings, exceeding an average score of 90 across various platforms as of October 11, 2024. Specifically, the PlayStation 5 version garnered an impressive score of 93, while the Xbox editions achieved 92, and the PC version—available on Steam and Microsoft Store—scored 91.
Moreover, Atlus reminded fans that Metaphor: ReFantazio has been honored with consecutive Future Division awards from the Japan Game Awards at both the 2023 and 2024 Tokyo Game Show. These accolades reflect significant excitement and anticipation from the gaming community, as the winners were determined by public votes during the first three days of the event.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now available globally on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
