On October 24, 2024, Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft implemented a patch for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero that adjusted Yajirobe’s abilities to ensure they align with the intended power levels. However, this update introduced new issues such as a significant corrupted save data problem. The official social media account has acknowledged these matters, confirming that the developers are actively addressing them.
Beyond adjusting Yajirobe’s strength, this Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero patch also aimed to rectify various issues related to the Episode Battle difficulty and restore classic controls, thereby enhancing game stability. Notably, it modified the easier difficulty settings for solo story progression. Yajirobe’s status has notably decreased, and the classic control scheme is now reportedly functional in online modes.
However, the problems stemming from the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero patch extend beyond mere corrupted save files. Players have encountered numerous issues related to gameplay and online multiplayer functionality. Some gamers report difficulties accessing their saved data, while others have noted a reset of their character rank to zero. Online multiplayer seems to also be malfunctioning. Unfortunately, Bandai Namco has not provided a timeline for when these issues will be resolved, nor have they offered guidance on addressing them in the meantime. Additionally, many players lost access to their battle replays following the installation of the patch.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is currently available for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
