FFXIV Community Finder Update Introduces Recruitment for Founding Members

Square Enix has recently enhanced the FFXIV Community Finder feature on the Lodestone. This update introduces the ability to initiate recruitment for founding members. To start this process, players must navigate to the official site and create pages to seek out new members within the game.

Here’s a breakdown of the process: First, access the Community Finder. This tool enables searches by Data Center and World. To kick off new member recruitment, log in and go to the homepage. You can then set up a page for a Free Company, Cross-World Linkshell, or PvP Team, thereby launching the search for founding members within the FFXIV Community Finder. Each of these types allows for multiple founding members, although, as clarified by Square Enix, standard Linkshells do not support this recruitment feature.

While the inclusion of founding member recruitment is a significant enhancement, it’s not the only improvement made to the FFXIV Community Finder. Additional quality-of-life updates have been introduced for both recruiters and players seeking to join new groups. For those who have set up a listing for new or founding members, these will now appear in a dedicated Watchlist section. These listings will be separate from other items you may have added to your Watchlist, all categorized under the “Listings Created”header. Furthermore, a new feature allows users commenting on these listings to restrict their comments to visibility only for community members who are currently recruiting.

Updates to the Community Finder are infrequent in FFXIV; the last notable update was in August 2021, which introduced the Watchlist feature.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on multiple platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Mark your calendars for the next Letter from the Producer Live 84, scheduled for 4am PT/7am ET/1pm CET on November 1, 2024.
