FFXIV Patch 7.1 Reveals Exciting New Features and Screenshots

Square Enix has launched a new webpage for FFXIV, detailing upcoming features and showcasing images for patch 7.1. Although the patch is still a month from its release, some aspects remain under wraps, with the update expected around mid-November 2024.

The FFXIV site highlights four key elements of the update alongside 11 new screenshots. The centerpiece is the “Crossroads” Main Scenario Questline, unfolding after the Dawntrail storyline. While avoiding spoilers, this questline will explore themes surrounding Living Memory. Other notable mentions include the FFXI Alliance Raid Dungeon, Yuweyawata Field Station Dungeon, and The Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden Trial. Each section is accompanied by relevant screenshots; for instance, Prishe is featured prominently in the Alliance Raid section, while the Yuweyawata Field Station preview hints at new attire rewards. Comparatively, details surrounding Sphene’s Burden remain more enigmatic.

Further information about these new features will be revealed shortly. The Letter from the Producer Live 84 is scheduled for next week, where Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio Murouchi will present more specifics about the update on November 1, 2024, at 4am PT/7am ET/1pm CET. This is also when a definitive release date is expected to be announced.

Final Fantasy XIV is accessible on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC platforms. The upcoming update is slated for a mid-November 2024 launch.
