Official Announcement: Red Dead Redemption PC Release is Coming Soon

Red Dead Redemption is set to make its highly anticipated debut on PC, as Rockstar has officially announced. The beloved main game, along with the Undead Nightmare expansion, will be available on platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and Rockstar’s own storefront starting October 29, 2024.

In a recent update on its website, Rockstar confirmed that the PC version of Red Dead Redemption is in development, with Double Eleven managing the port. This studio previously adapted the game for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Exciting enhancements for the PC edition include native 4K resolution, compatibility with ultrawide displays, and the option to use keyboard and mouse controls.

In addition to the main game, PC players will receive Undead Nightmare as part of their purchase. This standalone expansion features protagonist John Marston battling against hordes of undead foes.

Earlier this year, a potential PC release was hinted at when the PS4 version’s description briefly highlighted PC-specific features, although this was quickly reverted. Screenshots circulated widely, fueling speculation. Until now, Red Dead Redemption has only been accessible on consoles, starting with its launch on PS3 and Xbox 360 and continuing through more recent console ports.

Mark your calendars: Red Dead Redemption will officially launch on PC on October 29, 2024. It is also playable on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
