Nippon Ichi Software has revealed exciting news regarding the upcoming sequel, Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero. Fans can look forward to the addition of Castile and Walnut as downloadable content (DLC) characters, making their return from the original game. Additionally, the developer has hinted that a host of characters from various Nippon Ichi Software titles will also join the roster as DLC. [Thanks to 4Gamer for the update!]
More information regarding Castile and Walnut’s roles as DLC characters will be shared in the future, alongside details on additional DLC fighters for the sequel. Castile, a 14-year-old girl, is known as the best friend of Marona, the protagonist of Phantom Brave. In this new installment, it appears that Castile has overcome her past illness and is no longer reliant on a wheelchair.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero serves as a fresh sequel to the beloved PlayStation 2 classic released in 2004. This highly anticipated sequel was officially unveiled during the Nintendo Direct event in June 2024. Furthermore, NIS America has announced plans to reintroduce the original Phantom Brave game with a remastered version set to launch for the PlayStation 5 on November 7, 2024. A limited edition of Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero was also mentioned during Tokyo Game Show 2024.
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is scheduled to launch on January 30, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
