Police say, ‘Power Diary’ Park Eun-soo is investigating ‘use of lost card’… Case closed NO.’ [Exclusive]

[OSEN=Reporter Yoo Soo-yeon] Actor Park Eun-soo, who received a lot of love for his role as Il-yong in the drama ‘Power Diary’, was involved in a case of using a lost card, and the police have informed of the progress.

On the 6th, the police said through OSEN, “The case related to Park Eun-soo is currently under investigation. The case has not yet been sent to the prosecution,”and “Other details cannot be confirmed.”

As a result of OSEN’s coverage, Park Eun-soo was recently investigated by a police station in Gyeonggi-do for being involved in a case of using a lost card. He is suspected of using the lost card after acquiring it last summer.

Since a card lost by someone is property outside of that person’s possession, taking the card itself is a crime of embezzlement of property out of possession, and using another person’s lost or stolen credit card is Article 70, Article 1 of the Specialized Credit Financial Business Act. It is a crime to use a credit card illegally as stipulated in this section, and if you use it at a card merchant to purchase goods, it is a crime of fraud under the criminal law.

Additionally, if you use money or cards you pick up on the street, you may be sued or criminally charged because it is considered embezzlement. In addition, according to Article 70 of the Credit Financial Business Act, anyone who sells or uses a lost or stolen credit or debit card may be punished by imprisonment for up to 7 years or by a fine of up to 50 million won.

Regarding this, Park Eun-soo explained in a phone call with OSEN, “I didn’t have a card so I was using my wife’s card. I used it thinking it was my wife’s card, but (later) I found out it was someone else’s card.”

He continued, “Afterwards, I reported it to the police and returned all expenses incurred. He also responded, saying, “I have completed the police investigation,” and that an agreement was reached with the victim after the investigation.

However, it is known that the police investigated cases related to Park Eun-soo until recently.

Meanwhile, Park Eun-soo made her face known by playing the role of Il-yong in the drama ‘Country Diary’. In 2008, he was sentenced to prison in 2010 on charges of real estate fraud, film production investment fraud, and non-payment of interior design. After being unable to work as an actor for 15 years, Park Eun-soo became a recipient of basic livelihood security, and in 2021, she revealed her life as a daily worker at a pig farm. He is recently appearing on the tvN STORY entertainment show ‘The Chairman, Your People’.
