Dotemu has officially announced the launch date for Metal Slug Tactics, the strategic game featuring iconic characters and Slugs from the franchise, plus characters from Ikari Warriors. Mark your calendars for November 5, 2024, when the game will be released on both consoles and PC. Additionally, a launch trailer has been shared to give players a glimpse of what’s in store.
The Metal Slug Tactics launch trailer showcases main gameplay elements while also introducing three characters from Ikari Warriors that will be playable in this adventure. Even those who may not be familiar with Ikari Warriors will likely recognize these characters from The King of Fighters series. The lineup includes Clark Still, Leona Heidern, and Ralf Jones, all contributing unique styles to the gameplay.
In Metal Slug Tactics, each of the three Ikari Warriors characters specializes in distinct roles. Clark is set to reposition foes and apply status effects. The trailer, particularly at the 15-second mark, features him wielding a gun and knife during an attack, showcasing his ability to throw an opponent towards an ally post-assault.
Leona appears approximately 30 seconds into the trailer. Her segment begins with a successful shot that takes down an enemy, leading to the manifestation of a replica where the foe fell. Furthermore, we witness her unleashing an area-of-effect (AOE) attack that ignites tiles with a fire hazard, demonstrating how her clones can participate in battle.
The trailer’s latter half showcases Ralf in action. He employs close-range knife techniques against foes on the battlefield and delivers several fire-infused AOE attacks to enemies nearby. Notably, towards the conclusion of the trailer, Ralf executes a spectacular finisher that simultaneously strikes four adversaries surrounding him.
