Capcom has revealed that the Resident Evil 2 Remake will be arriving on iPhone, iPad, and Mac in 2024, with pre-registration now available. The official release date is set for December 31, 2024.
Players can enjoy Resident Evil 2 Remake on all iPhones released after the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16. Compatibility is also guaranteed for iPads and Macs featuring the M1 chip or newer. As it will be linked to your Apple ID, you can play seamlessly across all compatible devices. Additionally, a portion of the game will be made available for free, allowing players to experience the beginning before committing to a purchase.
While playing Resident Evil 2 Remake on iPhone or iPad, users will utilize on-screen touch controls to guide characters such as Leon, Claire, Ada, or Sherry. For those who prefer a different gameplay approach, connecting a Bluetooth controller is an option. Furthermore, there are settings available to enable automatic shooting for players who may struggle with touch controls.
Originally launched in 2019, Resident Evil 2 Remake revitalizes the classic game from 1998. Although it is considered a sequel, familiarity with the first game is not a requirement for understanding the plot. The story centers around Leon and Claire navigating the Zombie-infested streets of Raccoon City, with only minor references to the first installment. Offering two protagonists leads to dual storylines through the devastated city. The remake achieved immense popularity, surpassing the original’s sales, and is celebrated as the top-selling entry in the Resident Evil franchise.
Currently, Resident Evil 2 is playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Players can look forward to the iPhone, iPad, and Mac version set to launch on December 31, 2024.
