Silent Hill 2 Remake Update Prevents James Getting Stuck

Konami has rolled out an update patch for the remake of Silent Hill 2 that brings several enhancements. Notable improvements include the reduction of visual glitches and stuttering, alongside addressing a problem where the main character, James Sunderland, would get caught on various objects. The detailed patch notes encompass two main areas: technical improvements and gameplay enhancements. This update is available for both PlayStation 5 and PC versions.

As highlighted, Patch 1.04 aims to prevent James from becoming snagged on items, such as windows. However, the gameplay fixes introduced by this patch are quite significant. These include adjustments to the A.I. for Abstract Daddy, resolving an issue where James might teleport across Brookhaven Hospital when peering through a specific peephole, among other updates.

Additional fixes comprise improvements in collision mechanics and allowing players to collect items during boss encounters, which is a substantial improvement. Less critical adjustments also include the visual changes to the Nurse enemies’ skirt deformation.

Following its release on October 8, 2024, Konami reported that the Silent Hill 2 remake surpassed 1 million units sold globally, marking it as the fastest-selling title in the Silent Hill franchise thus far. Nevertheless, it hasn’t overtaken the original game in terms of total sales, which still holds that record.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is currently accessible on PC and PlayStation 5 platforms.
