Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered: Experience Three Classic Lara Croft Adventures Again

The highly anticipated Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is currently in the works by Crystal Dynamics alongside Aspyr Games, set to launch on February 14, 2025.

This new remastered collection will feature enhanced versions of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Notably, The Last Revelation and Chronicles were the concluding titles for the PS1, whereas The Angel of Darkness marked the beginning of the PS2 era and was the last project from the original Core Design team. Players can expect a significant visual upgrade for the first two titles, including an option to toggle back to the classic graphics. For The Angel of Darkness, however, the remaster seems to rely solely on upscaled textures from the original game, as no side-by-side comparisons were provided in the reveal trailer.

In Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, players embark on Lara Croft’s biggest journey yet, exploring various locations in Egypt and experiencing a richer level design. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider: Chronicles presents an anthology format, showcasing four shorter escapades set in Rome, Russia, Ireland, and New York. Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness delves into a darker storyline, which casts Lara in a web of conspiracy as she seeks to clear her name after being accused of her mentor’s murder while navigating the mysteries of Paris and Prague. This title was also infamous for its incomplete state upon initial release, and it’s still uncertain if the remaster will address its previous bugs and control problems.

This upcoming remastered package follows a prior release that included the first three Tomb Raider titles. It is set to be available exactly one year later, on February 14, 2025, a significant date for fans as it coincides with Lara Croft’s official birthday. The announcement for this remaster arrives shortly after the debut of the Netflix animated adaptation featuring Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft.

The Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch starting February 14, 2025.
