PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Introduces New Category Honoring Classic Games

Scheduled for December 3, 2024, the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 for Japan and Asia will introduce a unique category commemorating the 30th anniversary of the inaugural PlayStation games. Sony Interactive Entertainment has also opened up user voting, which will continue until November 7, 2024, through the official site of the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024.

The new “PlayStation Generations Awards” category allows fans to cast their votes for their preferred games across every PlayStation console launched in the last three decades. This encompasses the original PlayStation, as well as the PS2, PSP, PS3, PS Vita, and PS4.

In the traditional categories, the Grand Award will honor the top three games developed in Japan and other Asian nations, with one standout title receiving the Partner Award. Moreover, an Excellence Award will be granted to titles that have secured the Grand Award for three consecutive years, marking a significant milestone.

Additionally, a Special Award will recognize titles that have achieved remarkable successes. The “Users’ Choice Awards” will highlight the five best new releases from 2024, chosen through user voting from the top 30 most-played titles in Japan and other Asian countries.

Beginning in 1994, the PlayStation Partner Awards were originally called the PlayStation Awards, established to honor the talented creators and developers behind the games for the original PlayStation console.

Voting for the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 is currently open through November 7, 2024, with winners set to be revealed on December 3, 2024.
