On the 19th, an official from the agency JYP Entertainment stated their position to OSEN, saying, “The ruling has already been finalized and concluded, so we have nothing to say as it has nothing to do with the artist’s entertainment activities.”

He continued, “However, in the future, we will take firm legal action against any cases that defame or insult artists through speculative posts.”

According to the legal community, the 13th Civil Affairs Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court ruled that Nayeon’s mother’s former lover, A, lost the lawsuit against Nayeon and Nayeon’s mother for the loan money.

According to the ruling, Mr. A transferred approximately 535.9 million won to Nayeon from 2004 to 2016. Afterwards, Mr. A filed a lawsuit against Nayeon and Nayeon’s mother in January of last year, saying, “At the time, at the request of Nayeon’s mother, I paid necessary expenses such as living expenses.”lent funds. “Nayeon, who was her trainee, promised to repay her money when she debuted, but Nayeon broke her promise,” she claimed.

The court did not acknowledge Mr. A’s claim. The court ruled that although it was true that Mr. A had transferred over 500 million won to Nayeon over 12 years, there was insufficient evidence to recognize this as a loan.

In particular, the court said, “Considering that Mr. A and Nayeon’s mother were in a romantic relationship at the time, it cannot be concluded that this was a loan. “Given that the items are monthly rent, communication fees, loans, and tuition, it can be seen that the money was paid for living expenses,” he said.

In addition, the court added, “Mr. A also claims that he ‘expected’ the money to be returned when Nayeon debuted as a singer, so it is difficult to view the entire amount paid as a loan.”

Meanwhile, Nayeon debuted with the group Twice in October 2015.
