Nintendo has unveiled plans to release Xenoblade Chronicles X, a title that was previously exclusive to the Wii U, on the Nintendo Switch as a Definitive Edition set to launch on March 20, 2025. This edition promises more than just enhanced graphics; additional content will be included, as confirmed by the company.
Set in an expansive open-world environment, Xenoblade Chronicles X follows players who find themselves stranded on Mira after leaving Earth. Players must aid in the defense and development of New Los Angeles. Customizable characters join forces with BLADE agents, piloting Skell mechs to navigate the rich landscape. The Switch iteration is expected to boast upgraded visuals, maintain online multiplayer features with exclusive missions and Global Nemesis Battles, and introduce new narrative content.
A first-look trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is already available, showcasing both familiar story arcs and gameplay elements, along with a sneak peek at some new features around the two-minute mark.
The arrival of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on the Switch signifies that every major title in the Xenoblade series will be playable on this console. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 have already been released exclusively for the platform, while Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition launched in May 2020.
Mark your calendars: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2024, building on the legacy of the original game that debuted on the Wii U.
