A bus converted camping car that looks like something from the movies Mad Max or Star Wars is a hot topic.

Gordon, who lives in the United States, purchased a disused school bus at auction for $2,000 (about 2.67 million won). He started the renovation without a specific plan and only with a few ideas to use the bus in various ways. Although he does not actually live in this converted bus, he uses it as a camping and business tool.

After purchasing his first bus, he removed the interior and cut off the top of the rear section to create a cargo area. It took him about two years to fix and decorate the interior of the bus. He continued his work with tireless passion and sincerity, and the bus gradually changed.

The two rear decks stored equipment and materials for Gordon’s various work projects. The top deck has a sturdy wire mesh floor for storage of fixtures and items. The lower deck is a workbench with a removable canopy and a crane for lifting heavy objects. Gordon said he got the idea for the layout and crane from the way shipping containers move.

The front of the bus camper has four captain’s chairs, an electronic control unit, and a workbench. The kitchen is equipped with a sink, refrigerator, freezer, and gas range. At the back, there are more shelves for storage and a bedroom space that can be divided for privacy.

The bus’s black exterior and unique layout are reminiscent of Mad Max. Gordon said, “Design and aesthetics meet function,” and “Survivalist thinking or imagination of the apocalypse did not influence my design.”
