Tesla Model 3 Highland to be released in the 4th quarter, awaiting export to Europe
[M Today Online Team] Recently, hundreds of Tesla Model 3 Highlands were seen parked in a large parking lot near Shanghai, China, and this parking lot was known to be Tesla’s export waiting area.
Images released through the Chinese Twitter ‘WuWa’ account show that the new Model 3 Highland is produced in a variety of colors, with white, red, blue, and black being the main ones. The new car has an EU logo, so it appears to be a vehicle waiting to be exported to Europe, and it is unclear whether deliveries will begin in time for its launch in the Chinese market. In China, customer deliveries of the new Model 3 are expected to begin in the fourth quarter.
According to additional comments from Troy Tesla, sales of the Tesla Model 3 Highland in Europe are also expected to begin in the fourth quarter. Tesla Giga Shanghai’s exports slowed down for a while due to production of the new Model 3, but are expected to quickly improve starting in September.
Meanwhile, Tesla Giga Shanghai recently produced its 2 millionth electric vehicle, and although Model Y accounts for most of production, the new Model 3 is expected to account for one-third of total production in the future.
