Actor Ha Jung-woo mentioned the responsibility of playing the real-life player Son Ki-jeong.

On the 11th, the preview of the movie ‘1947 Boston (directed by Kang Je-gyu)’ was held at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk University entrance in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.

‘1947 Boston’, which will be released on the 27th, is a film that tells the story of the challenges and thrilling journey of marathon runners to participate in international competitions wearing the Taegeuk symbol for the first time after liberation in 1947.

In the play, Ha Jung-woo transforms into the real-life character and legendary marathon hero Son Ki-jeong, and Im Si-wan transforms into Seo Yun-bok and gives a passionate performance.

Ha Jung-woo said, “I think it’s my first time playing the role of a director or a senior. My first thought while watching the movie was that when I was caught on screen with actor Im Si-wan, I thought I was older. Other than that, there was nothing special,”but added, “In fact, teacher Son Ki-jeong “I led this team on a journey to Boston, and I think it was a sense of responsibility. With that in mind, I went into filming with the same mindset as an actor, Son Ki-jeong,” he said.

Regarding the burden of portraying a real person, he said, “When I take on a character, it starts from my body, mind, and soul, but in the case of the role of Mr. Son Ki-jeong, I didn’t know anything, so I consulted with the director at first and talked a lot about what kind of person he was. The director also told me a lot. “Everything,” he recalled.

He said, “At the beginning of the acting and the beginning of the action, the person who caught my eye was teacher Son Ki-jeong. What kind of mind and emotion did the teacher have? I went into each take with that thought in mind. As those feelings accumulated one by one, in the first scene, the prologue scene, “The Berlin Olympic podium scene came on, and I didn’t easily lose my footing. My heart was heavy because it felt like I was experiencing it in real life, not a movie set. For the first time, I felt a solemnity that I had never felt before,”he added.
