Actors Ha Jung-woo and Im Si-wan expressed their feelings about working together.

On the 11th, a press screening for the movie ‘1947 Boston’ (directed by Kang Je-gyu) was held at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk University entrance branch in Jayang-dong, Seoul. Attending the scene were director Kang Je-gyu, Ha Jung-woo, Im Si-wan, and Kim Sang-ho.

‘1947 Boston’ depicts the story of Korean marathoners heading to the 1947 Boston Marathon in the United States after liberation, centered on marathon gold medalist Son Ki-jeong, who set a new world record at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Ha Jung-woo plays Son Ki-jeong, and Im Si-wan plays Seo Yun-bok, Son Ki-jeong’s successor.

On this day, Ha Jung-woo, who said, “This is my first time playing the role of a director and a senior,” said, “I felt like I was getting older when I was caught on screen with Im Si-wan.” In the play, Ha Jung-woo exchanges various emotions with Im Si-wan as a close friend. Ha Jung-woo was satisfied, saying, “Seeing Im Si-wan working so hard for the role naturally made me emotional,” and added, “I thought teacher Seo Yun-bok would also like it as Im Si-wan did an excellent job.” Im Si-wan described Ha Jung-woo as a “reliable older brother” and responded, “I relied on him at many moments while filming.”

As they played real people, Ha Jung-woo and Im Si-wan said they repeatedly thought about what the characters would have felt. Ha Jung-woo said, “My heart was heavy as I reflected on Mr. Son Ki-jeong’s thoughts and emotions in every scene,” and added, “I experienced a solemnity that I had never felt before in my previous work.” Im Si-wan also took on the role with a serious mind. The explanation is that they tried to save Seo Yun-bok’s appearance by restricting her diet and exercising regularly. Im Si-wan, who continued by saying, “When I measured my body fat on InBody, my body fat was about 6%,” emphasized, “I tried not to waste every moment, thinking that this moment would never come back.”

‘1947 Boston’ will be released on the 27th.
