‘1947 Boston’ Im Si-wan “For the first time in my life, I reached 6% body fat… It was amazing.”

[SBS Entertainment News | [Reporter Kim Ji-hye] Actress Im Si-wan revealed that she lowered her body fat by 6% to play marathoner Seo Yun-bok.

Im Si-wan, who attended the press screening and press conference for the movie ‘1947 Boston’ held at Lotte Cinema in Konkuk University Station, Seoul on the afternoon of the 11th, said that he not only worked on his acting but also built his body to play Seo Yun-bok, the winner of the Boston Marathon.

Im Si-wan said, “I did a lot of preparation in terms of appearance,” and added, “What I spent the most time on was diet and exercise.”

He then confessed, “From the time I started filming until the end, I ate chicken breast and salad and exercised every day. I didn’t want my strong muscles to lose strength, so I tried to maintain a sense of bulge by exercising in between cuts.”

Im Si-wan also said, “I measured my body fat on InBody and it came out to be 6%. I didn’t aim for that number, but as I tried to resemble Seo Yun-bok, I measured 6% for the first time in my life and I think it was amazing.”

In this work, Im Si-wan plays Seo Yun-bok, a national representative of the 1947 Boston Marathon and a person who dreams of becoming the next Son Ki-jeong. As the movie portrays Joseon’s most talented marathon runner, not only the acting but also the appearance was made similar to enhance the realism of the play.

‘1947 Boston’ is a film that depicts the story of the challenges and thrilling journey of marathon runners to participate in international competitions wearing the Taegeuk symbol for the first time after liberation in 1947, and will be released on the 27th.
