Steven Yeun, who attended the press conference for ‘Korean American Special Exhibition: Korean Diaspora’ held at the KNN Theater in Busan on the afternoon of the 6th, said, “It was a meaningful event because the Busan International Film Festival planned this. Steven Yeun is a representative Korean American working in Hollywood and has achieved outstanding achievements such as entering the competition section of the Cannes Film Festival with the film ‘Burning’ and becoming the first Asian to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for the film ‘Minari’.

There have been several cases of Korean-Americans knocking on the door of Hollywood. However, it is true that he was not able to expand his stride as much as Steven Yeun or John Cho.

It is also true that the intensity of the process was less highlighted compared to Steven Yeun’s brilliant results. When asked about Steven Yeun’s ability to overcome the intensity of the process, he said, “Of course, I was in the process before the result. However, a movie is a collective work, so it cannot be said that I did it alone.”

He continued, “I saw what my seniors had done and followed suit. Their journey was a good connection, but it was also an obstacle at times. But I didn’t think I had to overcome it. There were many obstacles, and I was frustrated at some moments. Looking back, “I have learned a lot from the journey of starting a project and overcoming difficulties in the process through discretion. New challenges are difficult but exciting,”he said.

Steven Yeun connected with viewers around the world through this year’s Netflix drama ‘Beef’. ‘Beef’ depicts the story of a reckless driving incident between Danny (Steven Yeun), an unsatisfied contractor, and Amy (Ally Wong), a successful but dissatisfied businesswoman with her life.

This work was written and directed by American-Korean director Lee Seong-jin, with Steven Yeun in the lead role. Additionally, most of the drama’s staff was made up of Asians. Steven Yeun gave an outstanding performance as Danny, a Korean-American, in this work. For his outstanding performance in this work, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries.
