“I like it.”Yoo Ji-hyuk (played by Na In-woo) says: And he adds, “I am a good person.”Kang Ji-won (Park Min-young) also knows that he is a good person. He even reaches out to Jiwon, who is in crisis due to the meal kit project. But Jiwon cannot hold his hand.

tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama

Instead of asking for help from someone you like

As befits the romantic comedy genre, next to the main character is Yoo Ji-hyuk, who is like a “prince on a white horse.” He has even admired Kang Ji-won for a long time. Yoo Ji-hyuk, who was shocked by his death, also returned to the past. So Yu Ji-hyuk vows that he will no longer lose him like he did 10 years ago. And he has no hesitation in making this a reality. The same goes for confession.

Kang Ji-won, who returned 10 years ago, said to Yoo Ji-hyuk, “It feels like I’m seeing you smile for the first time.” To that extent, Yoo Ji-hyuk hid his expression and never smiled properly, fearing that his feelings would be revealed. Then he changed. With just a word of support, his hairstyle changes and he doesn’t hesitate to express his feelings.

But Jiwon cannot accept him. It’s not because I don’t know his heart or that he’s a good person. Because in his last life, he liked someone and decided that he never wanted to repeat the life in which that relationship led to his death. This decision makes it impossible for him to hold Yu Ji-hyuk’s hand. Moreover, Kang Ji-won is still officially in a relationship with Park Min-hwan (Lee Yi-kyung). That also means that he still has the task of resolving Jung Soo-min (played by Song Ha-yoon) and Park Min-hwan, who have been harassing him by pretending to be his friends.

Although this is my second time in life, corporate life is not easy. The bullying at work that led to Kang Ji-won getting stomach cancer 10 years ago was no different this time. Kang Ji-won’s meal kit plan is in danger of being stolen by Manager Kim Gyeong-wook (Kim Jung-hee), who is backed by Executive Director Wang Heung-in (Jung Jae-seong). They even try to completely exclude Kang Ji-won from the plan by taking advantage of every word Kang Ji-won says. And his friend Jeong Soo-min has already spooned in there.

Yoo Ji-hyuk learns of this situation and offers to help. However, he pledges to support Ji-won, who painfully realizes what a life of dependence on someone has made him. We have to solve this crisis ourselves. But how can a plan that even the managing director step in to be overturned?

At that time, Yoo Ji-hyuk takes her somewhere. It is a judo dojo. After changing out of his uniform, Ji-won spars with Ji-hyuk’s college junior, and in the process, Ji-hyuk tries to show Ji-won the key to solving the situation through the sport of judo.

‘First, stand on the mat and face your opponent.’

This is how Jihyuk’s judo class begins. Is it because of his teachings that it is necessary to control one’s strength in order to subdue an opponent who is taller and larger than oneself? Jiwon exerts as much pressure as he can and turns the opponent over. Even Jihyuk is laid down on the mat.

An achievement that is more exhilarating because you did it yourself

Through judo sparring, Kang Ji-won finds a ray of hope in the meal kit project, which seemed to have no breakthrough. Ji-won Kang has insight that goes back 10 years, something that Manager Gyeong-wook Kim and Managing Director Heung-in Wang do not have. Kang Ji-won, who knows that Managing Director Wang Heung-in will cause controversy due to the airplane incident, singles out Wang Heung-in and puts him at the forefront of the meal kit plan. And when there is chaos on board the plane, he calls him and lets him know that he is the real mastermind behind the meal kit plan.

In the end, Kang Ji-won escapes from the trap of the meal kit plan on his own. Kang Ji-won, smiling brighter and brighter than ever, is delighted with his own accomplishments.

After being excluded from the meal kit plan, Jeong Soo-min speaks to Kang Ji-won to comfort him. If you work hard, there will come a day when your abilities will be recognized. At the same time, he is trying to use the manager to put his name on the project and get a full-time position. To Jeong Soo-min, Kang Ji-won speaks clearly, unlike 10 years ago. I no longer want to live waiting for someone to recognize me someday. I want my abilities to be recognized now. In this way, Kang Ji-won takes another step toward becoming herself.

Kang Ji-won died without even being able to live her life due to her husband Park Min-hwan and friend Jeong Soo-min. He’s back 10 years ago, but the second round of his life still isn’t easy. Park Min-hwan’s violence and Ahn Ha-mu-in’s attitude of going as far as stabbing him with his hands, Jeong Soo-min’s ‘gaslighting’ trying to keep Kang Ji-won under his control by calling him a friend in everything. In front, Kang Ji-won had limited range of movement.

The drama focuses on the step-by-step journey of Kang Ji-won, who was thrown into previous relationships and situations, to find himself. And through it, the meaning of women’s independent lives is pointed out. As can be seen from the meal kit business, Kang Ji-won tries to somehow overcome the situation on his own. Kang Ji-won regains faith in herself through a refreshing reversal that sends away both Managing Director Wang Heung-in and Manager Kim Gyeong-wook. Would it have been so refreshing if Yoo Ji-hyuk had helped him?

Previous Kang Ji-won could not do that. Both his husband and his friends had problems, but in all of these relationships he never tried to assert himself in any of them. Even when the meal kit project was taken away from the company and her husband did not do his part, he did not raise his voice. The real mission given to the reborn Kang Ji-won is not to seek revenge on her husband and friend, but to find herself.

In that respect, Jeong Soo-min, who is always looking for what is his, is in contrast to Kang Ji-won. Unlike Kang Ji-won, who created the meal kit plan with his own abilities, Jeong Soo-min knows that Kang Ji-won’s plan is good and tries to steal it. The same goes for Jiwon’s husband. Jeong Soo-min even wants to steal Park Min-hwan because he is the nicest man that Kang Ji-won has ever met, works for a large company, and Hu Dae is fine.

While Kang Ji-won is searching for himself, Jeong Soo-min does not exist in the first place. There is only a desire to covet something plausible that a friend has. In this way, in <Marry My Husband>, in contrast to Kang Ji-won’s search for true self, the destruction caused by Jeong Soo-min’s inferiority complex without ‘self’ became another point to watch.
