‘Burning’ is possible, but ‘Minari’ is not… John Cho and Steven Yeun, Reason for Silence [28th BIFF]

John Cho and Steven Yeun, members of the Screen Actors Guild, were unable to mention their American appearances due to the union’s strike.

The two attended the press conference for ‘Korean American Special Exhibition: Korean Diaspora’ held at the KNN Theater in Haeundae-gu, Busan on the afternoon of the 6th.

Prior to the full-scale press conference, programmer Park Do-shin, who served as moderator, explained, “Unfortunately, due to the strike, John Cho and Steven Yeun cannot comment on American dramas,” adding, “However, in the case of ‘Burning,’ it is possible to mention it because it is a Korean work.” did.

He then asked for understanding, saying, “It’s my first time experiencing something like this, so it’s awkward, but please understand.”

Audiences at the ’28th Busan International Film Festival’ can see various works by Korean Americans through the ‘Korean Diaspora’ program. The 28th Busan International Film Festival continues until the 13th.
