FNC Entertainment Co., Ltd. (173940, FNC Entertainment. Hereinafter referred to as FNC) announced on the 11th that it signed a production and supply contract with the Korea Broadcasting Corporation (KBS) for the production of the drama ‘Wedding Battle.’ The broadcast date for October 2023 has been confirmed and filming is currently underway.

Until 2017, FNC had consistently produced works of various genres such as ‘Who Are You – School 2015’, ‘Sweet Enemy’, and ‘Sister is Alive’, and after selling its drama production subsidiary in 2018, it produced 5 dramas, starting with ‘Wedding Battle’. Drama production begins in earnest after a year. We are preparing about 10 works, including works by famous writers and directors that we have recruited so far, and plan to present at least 1 to 2 works every year starting in 2023.

In addition, the company plans to showcase dramas of various genres by leveraging the synergy between drama production and a solid line-up of actors, including Jung Hae-in and Rowoon. Through this, the company plans to pursue both sales and profitability and establish itself as an axis of the company’s profitable business in the future..

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Wedding Battle’ (written by Ha Hao-jin, directed by Hwang Seung-gi and Kim Su-jin) is a matchmaking comic melodrama in which a Cheongsang sire and a Cheongsang widow carry out a grand wedding battle against the backdrop of the Joseon Dynasty.

Actor Rowoon, who played an active role in the 2021 drama ‘Yeonmo’, has been confirmed as the lead role, continuing his historical drama relationship with KBS. As KBS invested the largest production budget ever among romantic comedy historical dramas, expectations are rising as the best work of the genre this year.
