[OSEN=Reporter Park So-young] Actor Jung Il-woo, who was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, decided to become a better actor.

Jung Il-woo appeared on JTBC’s ‘Newsroom’ which aired on the 21st and conducted an interview with announcer Kang Ji-young. He debuted in the 2006 sitcom ‘Unstoppable High Kick’ and received explosive love for his character Lee Yun-ho, but he unexpectedly suffered a major car accident, surprising many. At age 26, he was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm, a bulging blood vessel in the brain.

Jung Il-woo said about ‘Unstoppable High Kick’, “I have been an actor for 18 years now, and this work became the foundation for that. I think I’m really lucky to meet the character of my life in my debut work. So, it is still a work for which I am truly grateful. “Now that I’m in my 30s, rather than breaking that image, I think I should create a more developed character.”

Jung Il-woo, who is looking for a life character suitable for a person in his 30s, is attempting stage acting for the first time in five years with the play ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’. He said, “I really wanted to do this work because I have a desire to try something like a work that is difficult to cover in the media or a character with such depth.”

Jung Il-woo took on the role of Molina in the play ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’, a character who believes she is a woman. He said, “I usually try to speak in a very feminine way. While she’s doing theater, she’s always trying to be herself and be prepared. Molina is a character who is very full of her self-love. “I think she will give courage to many people,” she said confidently.

Although he suffered from depression after being diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, Jung Il-woo is acting courageously. He said, “A turning point in your 20s? As I went through those times because I was a little sick, I truly became more grateful every day, and my attitude and attitude toward my work changed. I think I still have a long way to go. “I think it takes time like that to become stronger and more mature,” he said.

I also dream of taking on the role of a villain. Jung Il-woo said, “Because I am in my 30s, I need more experience, but although it is not revealed to others, I am living a very fierce life in my own way. The villain is an attractive character. “I believe I also have this kind of evil, so if there is a good villain character, I will always work hard,” he said emphatically.

He continued, “An actor’s imagination comes from his gaze. Therefore, it is important for an actor to have diverse and unbiased perspectives. When you look for the beauty in others, you come to empathize and understand them. So, I look at the work and analyze the characters from that perspective. Then, wouldn’t a more unusual character emerge?” he said with a bright smile.

At a previous meeting with OSEN, Jung Il-woo said, “My thoughts on life have changed so much. There was a lot of impatience and a lot of negative thoughts, but they turned into positive ones. It became ‘Let’s enjoy every day.’ He learned the value of gratitude and small happiness. “Happiness does not come from big places,” he said.

Last year, MBN ‘ came out! Through ‘Captain Kim’, he said, “It’s a disease like a time bomb, so I don’t know when I will die. I haven’t left the house for months. We are still continuing follow-up. He is being examined once every six months. It’s my illness and my body, so what should I do? “It’s about accepting and living,” he said positively, echoing the sentiment.
