[My Daily = Reporter Yang Yu-jin] Director Hong Sang-soo (62) and actress Kim Min-hee (41), who have been having an affair for eight years, did not appear at the 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

On the 6th, a stage greeting for ‘Our Day’, director Hong’s 30th feature film and an ‘icon’ invitation, was held at the outdoor stage of BIFFXGENESIS at the Busan Film Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Actors Ki Joo-bong and Park Miso attended the event and interacted with numerous movie fans.

Director Hong was in charge of writing and directing ‘Our Day’ as well as filming, editing, and music, and his girlfriend Kim Min-hee participated as the lead actor and production manager.

Director Hong and Kim Min-hee became lovers through the movie ‘Right Now, Wrong Then’ (2015) and then officially acknowledged their affair in 2017. Director Hong has a wife whom he married in 1985.

Director Hong and Kim Min-hee have continued to work together even after being labeled as having an ‘affair’, but they have been showing no communication by not attending domestic events for several years. The press/distribution preview of ‘Our Day’ on the 13th will only be a screening without a press conference.

‘Our Day’, which was presented as the closing film of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival Director’s Week, will be released in Korea on the 19th.
