On this day, IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, said, “Recently, a death threat was reported against an artist, and the level of violent acts against the artist has already gone too far, with investigative agencies urgently dispatched to our company’s headquarters, Kakao Entertainment’s headquarters, and the artist’s home.”He said.

Regarding the situation at the time, he said, “The artist was filming, and it was concluded after the investigative agency confirmed that it was a security and safety situation,”and added, “We immediately strengthened the artist’s security personnel.”In addition, he added, “False reporting may also be subject to punishment,”and “We will pursue it until the end and urge the investigative agency to quickly and strongly punish it. We will also do our best to protect IU’s safety.”

Espa Winter also received death threats earlier. Last August, a netizen posted a threat on an online community saying, ‘I will kill Winter with a weapon when she leaves the country.’

Accordingly, SM Entertainment, the agency, filed a complaint with the police against the person who posted the post and requested immediate cooperation in the investigation.
