[SPOTV News = Reporter Yoo Eun-bi] The movie ‘Sleep’ starring Jung Yu-mi and Lee Sun-kyun took an overwhelming first place in the box office, attracting close to 400,000 viewers in the first weekend of its release.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network for movie theater admissions on the 11th, the movie ‘Sleep’ attracted 395,334 people over the first three days of its release from the 8th to the 10th, ranking first in the box office on the first weekend by an overwhelming margin. The cumulative number of viewers was 539,033.

‘Sleep’ is a film about two people who struggle to unravel the mystery of husband Hyun-su’s strange behavior while sleeping and the terrible fear that begins the moment he falls asleep, which haunts the happy newlyweds Hyun-soo and Su-jin like nightmares. It is a feature-length film directed by Yoo Jae-seon of ‘Bong Joon-ho Kids’. This is his debut film as a commercial film director. Since its release on the 6th, it has been receiving positive reviews and continued to be a box office success.

Second place went to ‘Oppenheimer’, watched by 132,424 people. ‘Oppenheimer’ recorded a cumulative audience of 2,992,142 and is about to exceed 3 million viewers.

‘Concrete Utopia’ maintained its third place with 77,801 viewers during the same period. The cumulative number of viewers is 3,747,613, which is close to reaching the break-even point of 3.8 million.
