Regarding his approach to the character of Dong-geun, Kim Jung-hyun said, “I had a lot of conversations with the director and basically read the script diligently. She played Shin Hae-yeon, the mother of Yeong-hoon, a character who committed suicide, and worked with Kim Jeong-hyun. Gil Hye-yeon said, “In this work, I felt like I was representing not just Young-hoon’s mother, but all of Young-hoon’s mothers in the world. “I thought about how far a person can be driven out just because they are different from others, compounded by each person’s mistakes,” he said. “I kept crying when I saw Younghoon, and I felt very sad while acting.” “Secret,” he said. He revealed what he felt while acting.

In particular, the last scene where two people express their emotions is a highlight of ‘Secret’. Gil Hye-yeon praised, “Kim Jeong-hyun is an actor with insight.” Gil Hye-yeon said, “Rather than talking about how to act, she had a lot of conversations about the character, so she gave or received depending on how she felt. This scene was shot rather easily. “It was valuable work,” she said of the story behind it.

Kim Jung-hyun said, “I couldn’t film it for a long time because it was a sobbing scene. I was grateful to my senior for gently accepting me and talking with me. You adjusted a lot to me. “I filmed from dusk to dawn, and seeing him concentrate for a long time made me think I needed to work harder,” he said.

Park Seong-hyun, who played the role of Kim Seong-hyeon, who committed evil deeds against Young-hoon, said, “The script was read well from the beginning. “I was surprised that the role was the same as my name,” he said. “The character Seonghyun can be easily found around people, with only a slight difference.” Usually, villains feel attractive and powerful, but Seonghyun in ‘Secret’ didn’t want to look good or cool. This is because you have to do both jobs with the same people who originally did them, and you don’t want to be a nuisance. The advantage is that you can learn to work with very different materials. Since opportunities are not easily given, I try not to overlook the fact that I have to do my best to prepare every time they come. “I feel good because I had a good experience,” he said of his screen debut.

He said, “I’m usually very playful. I wanted to melt the boundaries between teenagers and Jung to Dong-geun. I thought about what metaphor could help teenagers express their sense of justice. Also, I didn’t have much acting experience when filming this movie, so I approached it purely. “I also thought about how young Dong-geun would act and what he would think and say,” he added.

He said, “I had to play the younger role of senior Kim Jeong-hyun, so I thought connection was important, so I searched for a lot of videos of senior Kim Jung-hyun acting. When you look at the result, it seems to be far from enough. “I hope this experience serves as an example and a catalyst for the future,” she said, raising expectations for her acting activities in the future.

In the movie, violence and absurdity within schools and the military were portrayed in a realistic manner. Director Lim Kyung-ho said, “It seemed like school violence and violence within the military could have a direct effect in the process of telling the story. The same goes for characters. He explained, “I was trying to reveal human groups that can be seen around me.”

Regarding the message of ‘Secret’, Kim Jung-hyun said, “I hope the keyword of atonement reaches the audience. ‘Secret’ is a work that allows you to think about how to view past events in your life in the present. Donggeun is also similar to an ordinary person. I wanted to show how people change as things in the past are uncovered. “If the audience can ask themselves how they can look at life earnestly according to the changes, I think the message has been sufficiently reached,” he said.
