Regarding his 10th visit to the Busan International Film Festival, director Hirokazu Koreeda said, “The Busan International Film Festival is the only film festival that is the same age as the year I debuted. It was at the Busan International Film Festival that I had a conversation with director Bong Joon-ho and met actor Song Kang-ho for the first time. The Busan International Film Festival was very helpful because it allowed me to interact with various filmmakers. “If I get the chance, I would like to continue working with Korean staff,” he said.

Then, at the GV held at CGV Centum City on the 8th, the audience met with the audience who were also in attendance and had been waiting for the movie. Director Hirokazu Koreeda said, “For me, I always come up with 2-3 movie ideas, develop them, and make them. Therefore, it was impossible to control which of the movies running simultaneously would be completed first. “I felt this time that there is a set time for the film to be completed and released,” he said, expressing special feelings about his new film ‘The Host’, which is about to be released in Korea. Regarding the amazing directing that created one incident from various perspectives, he said, “It leads to a repetitive structure of being a victim in some places and a perpetrator in others. “Usually, there is a way for the writer and director to closely discuss each other’s intentions for a scene, but when working with Yuji Sakamoto, we communicated and understood each other without talking,” he explained. He then said about the acting of actors Soya Kurokawa and Hinata Hiiragi, “After watching the audition, I had no doubts at all, and I thought, ‘This was a really good casting.’”He raised expectations for their passionate performances in the work.

Lastly, to the domestic audiences waiting for the movie, director Hirokazu Koreeda said, “This is not the ending point of this movie. It is scheduled to be released in Korea next month. “If you like the movie, it would be nice to see you again at the theater next month.” Soya Kurokawa said, “I’m really happy that not only Japanese but also Korean audiences are watching the movie. I am truly amazed that feelings can be conveyed across borders like this. He said, “I hope many people will come see it when it is released in theaters,” and Hinata Hiiragi said, “I am so happy to meet you through the Busan International Film Festival this time. “It is scheduled to be released in theaters in November, and I would like to see it again.”
