[Review] “Nostalgic stimulation…” 2PM, this is what a 15-year history is like

2PM (Jun.K, Nichkhun, Ok Taecyeon, Jang Wooyoung, Lee Junho, Hwang Chansung)’s solo concert ‘It’s 2PM’, held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul for two days from the 9th to the 10th, celebrated the members’ 15th anniversary of their debut with fans. ◇ Face-to-face performance after 6 years… Members full of emotions

This is the first full-scale performance of 2PM in about 6 years since ‘6 Nights’, which was held at the We Olympic Handball Stadium in Olympic Park in June 2017. Except for foreign member Nichkhun, all five members completed their military service and were active in various fields such as dramas, movies, musicals, solo tours, and entertainment, and came together for the first time in a long time.

The news of their collaboration made fans excited. The pre-sale for Hottest (fandom name) was sold out, and the general ticket for which additional seats were opened were also sold out.

After drawing attention with the hit song refrain medley video, 2PM stood in front of fans with a performance of ‘I’ll Be Back’, a song from their 2nd full-length album. Then ‘JUMP’ and ‘Aren’t you crazy?’ After finishing the ‘Hands Up’ stage, the members were moved and said, “We’re sorry for making you wait so long. The atmosphere is even hotter because it’s the last day. Thank you for coming to see us.”

Additionally, the six members expressed their gratitude to fans around the world in Chinese (Hwang Chan-sung), English (Jang Woo-young), Spanish (Ok Taecyeon), Indonesian (Jun.K), Thai (Nichkhun), and Japanese (Lee Jun-ho). As if to reciprocate, overseas fans shouted loudly every time they heard a comment in their own language.

◇ Comprehensive 15-year history of 2PM

2PM officially debuted on September 4, 2008 and is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. They summoned the happiest and most precious times in fans’ memories with a set list that encompassed their entire history.

The members prepared a stage for the group’s representative hit songs as well as songs that fans wanted to see. 2PM and Hottest (fandom name) have the same heart. As they saw each other at the concert hall for the first time in six years, their efforts to show their affection were outstanding. The members tried to communicate more closely with Hottest than ever before through the I-shaped protruding stage. Above all, they made Hottest smile with their considerate behavior, such as checking the health status of fans during each comment section.

The unique performance also stood out. The stage of ‘My House’, which was performed without shaking on a rising and falling device, and the stage of ‘Hani.ppun’, which increased the fun of watching with choreography using chairs, made the concert hall even more excited. Spectacular special effects such as fireworks and pollen also played a role in enhancing the quality of the concert. In addition, Ok Taecyeon’s ‘Surprise Jukebox Time’, where members could listen to their solo songs, came as a gift to fans.

Hottest’s performance etiquette was also quite impressive. I enjoyed the performance by waving my light stick throughout the 29-song performance and asking, ‘Aren’t you crazy?’ In the case of ‘My House’, everyone couldn’t contain their excitement and stood up and responded enthusiastically.

After performing the encore song ‘Thank You’ and celebrating the 15th anniversary of their debut, the members said, “It was a dream come true. After serving in the military and experiencing the coronavirus issue, I wondered if we would be able to make time for ourselves again. That’s the part. “It was resolved refreshingly today. 2PM will continue from now on. The reason is because I was with you today. Thank you very much for coming,”he said as his final greeting.
