Actor Steven Yeun talked about Korean content being in the spotlight around the world.

On the 6th, a press conference for the 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) ‘Korean American Special Exhibition: Korean Diaspora’ was held at the KNN Theater in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Steven Yeun said of Korean content being in the spotlight around the world, “These days, I feel like we are understanding each other and that things have changed a lot in sharing each other’s culture and information. I think we have become able to acknowledge our differences, empathize with each other, and achieve harmony.””I find comfort in being a person living in the diaspora,” he said.

He continued, “I watched ‘Physical: 100’ on Netflix, and I was able to sympathize with people because they looked similar. I felt like we were reorganizing how we can show ourselves. Our work also gave me a feeling of comfort and connection with Korean people. “I hope I get it,” he said.

Director Justin Jeon also said, “As a Korean American, I am glad that my white colleagues are now coming out and trying to build more consensus on this issue. They are interested in what things can come out of Korean culture and what parts are different, and they want to talk to us. “It’s something I never experienced growing up. There was never a time when mainstream society wanted to connect with us and communicate with us. But now the dialogue is opening up.”
