[TV Report = Reporter Kang Seong-hoon] The sad state of Japanese actor and singer Kohei Otomo (68) has been reported.

On the 18th, Kohei Otomo’s agency announced that a tumor was confirmed on Kohei Otomo’s kidney. She added that she would cancel a concert scheduled for this coming March because abnormalities were discovered during her regular check-up last November and she would need to undergo emergency surgery.

Kohei Otomo complained about the injustice of suffering from kidney disease through his personal blog, saying, “Why am I failing?” He is said to have prioritized his health as a top priority. He added that although there were painful and frustrating times, he chose to accept his fate.

Kohei Otomo said he was sorry to the fans who looked forward to the concert and expressed his sincere apology. He explained that fortunately, he quickly found out that he was suffering from kidney disease and met a great doctor through an acquaintance. After canceling the concert, he took time for treatment and rest, and then showed his courageous side, saying that he was looking forward to meeting his fans.

Kohei Otomo said, “Rock and roll never dies. “I am immortal,” he said, showing optimism about his current situation. Fans are voicing their support, hoping that he will return in good health.

Kohei Otomo debuted in the entertainment industry in 1980. He actively worked as the frontman of the band at the ‘Rock and Roll Olympics’ held at Sportsland’SUGO’ in 1981.

Kohei Otomo is also active as an actor. He starred in the movies ‘Star Child'(2020), the dramas ‘My Family'(2022), ‘Magical Renovation'(2022), ‘ Appeared in ;Detective Romance'(2023), etc.
