‘The Worst Evil’ Ji Chang-wook x Wi Ha-jun, packed with intense action

[TV Daily Reporter Hana Choi] ‘The Worst Evil’ has released the main poster and main trailer with intense visuals that you can’t take your eyes off.

The Disney+ original series ‘The Worst Evil’ is a crime action drama depicting the process of police officer Joon-mo (Ji Chang-wook) infiltrating and investigating the Gangnam joint organization, the center of the Korea-China-Japan drug trade in the 1990s.

The main poster that was released catches the eye with the contrasting appearances of Ji Chang-wook and Wi Ha-jun, who exude intensity with different impressions. Jun-mo, an Akbari police officer who risks everything in a dangerous operation, looks into the distance as if he has been in a fierce fight, raising curiosity about the situation facing him. Here, the charismatic appearance of Ki-cheol (Ha-jun Wi), the boss of Gangnam Union, allows us to feel his presence as he eventually leads the organization with his obsession for success. Armed with the unique personalities of each character, the two people plan to enrich the fun of the story by engaging in sharp psychological warfare on a dangerous borderline. In particular, the bottom of the poster also foreshadows action taking place in a close-quarters situation in a long hallway, raising expectations for the intense and stylish crime action presented by the production team of ‘New World’ and ‘Hunt’.

The main trailer released together delivers catharsis by feeling the liveliness of the action sequences and the explosive passionate performances of the actors at every moment. It begins with Jun-mo, who is introduced as “a guy who won’t let go once he bites you,” accepting an offer he can’t miss and jumping into a risky operation. Jun-mo jumps into a crisis situation to gain the trust of Gangnam Union boss ‘Gi-cheol’. The sight of Jun-mo, who showed off her fierce fighting actions without sacrificing her body, finally seems to get the answer, “I believe in you too,” stimulates curiosity about the next development. Also, “If I meet Jeong Ki-cheol, I will meet him and if he asks me to engage in psychological warfare, I will do it. With the addition of Ui-jeong (Im Se-mi), an elite police officer and Joon-mo’s wife, who steps forward to solve the problem herself, saying, “If only this crazy investigation could end quickly,”the case becomes even more chaotic, and the unfolding story unfolds among those who cannot predict the future. It heightens expectations for the narrative. Here, the appearance of Hae-ryeon (Kim Hyeong-seo), the key distribution agent of the giant cartel, also catches attention. As he is a character who undergoes a unique change in his feelings towards Jun-mo, he foreshadows that he will shake up all of her relationships, adding to the interest.
