The production briefing session for the movie ‘Deadman’ (director Ha Jun-won) was held at Megabox Seongsu on the morning of the 19th. Director Ha Jun-won and actors Cho Jin-woong, Kim Hee-ae, and Lee Soo-kyung attended the site and answered questions.

‘Dead Man’ is a story about a so-called businessman ace who makes money by living up to his name, but after being falsely accused of embezzling 100 billion won, he ends up living as a ‘dead man’ and the people who become entangled with just one name. It tells the story of a man on a quest to regain his stolen life. This is the debut film of director Ha Jun-won, who co-wrote the script for Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Monster’.

First, director Ha Jun-won introduced the work by saying, “It may seem like a linear plot of a man who has been falsely accused and searches for the real culprit, but it is a story of three characters interlocking like cogs according to their respective interests with one name.”

Director Ha Jun-won said about his decision to deal with ‘President of the Barge’ as a subject matter, “Everyone is born with a name and lives with a sense of responsibility, but we are witnessing people who are not responsible for their own names.”;Watching this, I felt a sense of social issues and wanted to address them through a story. “I thought it would be harmonious when the person selling the name was associated with the topic of the name,” he explained.

Cho Jin-woong leads the play as Lee Man-jae, who lived his life selling his name as the so-called ‘Baji Boss’ but was falsely accused and became a ‘dead man’. After seeing the scenario written by director Ha Jun-won after five years of meticulous research, Cho Jin-woong said, “I was alerted to never touch a dark place. The director’s meticulous planning was fully reflected. He revealed the reason why he decided to appear, saying, “It was an attractive script.”

Next, Cho Jin-woong said that he tried to leave himself to the rapidly changing situation rather than analyzing the character. He said, “I wanted to rawly expose various emotions that change depending on the situation. To put it simply, he joked that he “didn’t prepare for the character,”but was confident that “the more I went into a dire situation, the more I was able to express a more sticky character.”

Kim Hee-ae, who plays Mrs. Shim, the best consultant in politics, said, “It was a character I had never heard of. “She is so attractive that every actress would covet her,” she began. He said, “I came across a mysterious and precious role.” She says, “On the outside, she is a powerful person on the inside,”and she “shows a completely different world to Lee Man-jae for her own benefit,”making people look forward to a new charm that she has never shown before. did.

Meanwhile, on this day, director Ha Jun-won attracted attention by revealing his special relationship with Cho Jin-woong for the first time. He said that he noticed Cho Jin-woong 15 years ago at a drama set, and said, “It was a short moment, but it left a deep impression on me.” At that time, ‘I’m sure I’ll have to remember that name. “I told the production company representative, ‘The day will come when I will work with that person in the Korean film industry,’” he recalled, adding, “We will be working on my debut film together.”
