In the MBC entertainment program ‘King of Mask Singer’ that aired on the 7th, the 2nd and 3rd round stages of ‘Hambaknun’ were depicted. In the first round, he sang Taeyang’s ‘Only Look at Me’ brilliantly, attracting so much attention that he was assumed to be an artist belonging to YG Entertainment.

‘Hambaknoon’ competed against ‘Christmas in August’ (Children of Empire Kim Tae-heon) in the second round. ‘Hambaknun’, who selected Lee Hi’s ‘Rose’, captivated the listeners’ ears with his delicate sensibility, chewy vocalization, and excellent rapping. It was a stage where her alluring voice and femme fatale charm thrilled the hearts of the judges.

‘Hambaknun’, who advanced to the third round with favorable reviews from the judges, performed a slightly arranged R&B style version of Blackpink’s dance song ‘Playing with Fire’. Even though it was an original song sung by four people, he showed off his strong singing skills alone and radiated strong charisma. His flexible pace control and stage control stood out.

Lim Jeong-hee, a member of the judging panel, said, “I liked the freedom to relax and sing quietly.” Kim Jong-seo said, “Usually when it comes to competitions, people are greedy to make an impact, but ‘Hambaknun’ was not greedy just to fill a stage with perfection. “He was a master,” he said. Yoon Sang also said, “No one has received such praise in the third round for a dance song. He praised ‘Hambaknun’, saying, “He has tenacity.”

However, ‘Hambaknun’ unfortunately lost the victory of this round to ‘Jungkkeutma’ (the important thing is an unbreakable heart) and had to stop challenging for the King of Singers. ‘Soul Godmother’ BMK predicted, “Voters may have been divided based on (musical) taste rather than differences in ability.”

When ‘Hambaknun’ took off his mask, everyone, including the judges, was surprised. This is because the main character of the ‘Hambaknun’ mask was Lee Seo-yeon of Fromis 9. Although he was unable to sit in the position of King of Singers, he showed off his charm and musical ability, which was different from when he was in the group. He showed himself as an ‘all-rounder’ with perfect visuals, performance, and singing skills.
