JYP becomes the first in the industry to obtain international certification for its anti-corruption management system from the Royal Standards Institute

[OSEN = Reporter Seon Mi-kyung] JYP Entertainment (hereinafter JYP) became the first in the industry to obtain international certification for the anti-corruption management system (ISO 37001) from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

JYP and BSI Korea (CEO Lim Seong-hwan) held the ‘Anti-Corruption Management System (ISO 37001) International Certification Ceremony’ at JYP headquarters located in Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 19th. JYP CEO Jeong Wook and BSI Korea CEO Lim Seong-hwan and other officials attended the event.

ISO 37001 is an anti-corruption management system standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2016 based on agreement with the international community. It refers to an anti-corruption management system based on comprehensive international standards that can prevent and supervise corruption-related activities, including bribery, embezzlement, and personnel recruitment corruption, by third parties such as executives, employees, or agents within an organization. It specifies the requirements and provides guidelines for an organization to be free from corruption and bribery.

JYP diagnosed and evaluated company-wide corruption risks at a professional level to establish an anti-corruption management system that meets ISO 37001 certification requirements and obtain international certification. In recognition of these results, we became the first domestic entertainment company to obtain ISO 37001 certification from the British Royal Standards Institute.

This means that JYP’s audit governance system is established at a global level. In particular, it has obtained ISO 37001 certification from the Royal Standards Institute, the world’s first national standard-setting body established in 1901 and a world-renowned international standard-setting body. It has meaning in that sense.

JYP is making efforts to continuously strengthen ESG management and governance systems at the international level, including obtaining ISO 37001 certification. As a global company, we are doing our best to comply with the anti-corruption provisions of the UN Global Compact. In addition, in March 2022, a new female outside director was appointed to secure the independence and diversity of the board of directors, and along with EDM social contribution activities, an eco-friendly CSR project that creates a healthy environment for living, ‘Love Earth’, a global environmental network 39;1% for the Planet’ We are continuing to take action to reduce environmental impact, including member activities and participation in RE100, a voluntary campaign to procure 100% of the power used from renewable energy. /seon@osen.co.kr
