None

[SBS Entertainment News | [Editor Kim Hyo-jeong] John Lennon, a musician who dreamed of peace and love.

In the SBS ‘Over-Immersion Life History’ broadcast on the 18th, people were overly immersed in the life of John Lennon of the Beatles.

On this day, Bae Cheol-soo, a life teller, began by saying, “John Lennon’s life was music itself, to the extent that it can be said that music dies with the death of one person.”

And then he headed to Strawberry Fields, where his story began. Strawberry Fields was the name of a space created in the park to commemorate John Lennon after his death, as well as the name of an orphanage located in Liverpool, England.

John lived with his aunt instead of his divorced parents, and lived his life thinking he was an orphan. He then went to a nearby orphanage, Strawberry Fields, to spend some time calming down.

Then one day, John met his mother again and they became closer little by little. But suddenly his mother died in a car accident.

The driver who caused the accident claimed that the mother was at fault, and the court believed the argument of the police officer who was the driver of the accident. As a result, John became distrustful of society and had no future for him.

John Lennon went through the most difficult and unhappy times, but he worked hard at music. And then he met Paul McCartney and they became close through music.

Also, thanks to Paul, John opened his eyes to songwriting, and they made music together in his bed every day. In this way, a duo that would sweep not only the UK but the world was born. This was the real beginning of the Beatles.

After becoming superstars, the Beatles suffered from many temptations. However, after the Beatles gave up their path as brilliant entertainers and announced a hiatus from performing, he concentrated on working on his album. And during this period, famous albums that we are familiar with were released one after another.

And the Beatles prepared an event that will be remembered forever by fans. A guerrilla concert was held on the rooftop of the EMI building.

The Beatles, who wanted to present their own music rather than the stars called The Beatles, came together in full force and performed as a group after three years of hiatus. Also known as The Beatles’ rooftop concert. However, this concert ended up being the Beatles’ last performance.

John Lennon met and fell in love with Yoko Ono. But to her fans, Yoko Ono only seemed like a witch. When John met Yoko Ono, the feud between him and her other members intensified, and her fans attributed this to Yoko Ono.

John, who fell in love with the avant-garde performance artist Yoko Ono, opened his eyes to a new world, and the Beatles, whose directions changed, officially disbanded in May 1971.

After marrying Ono, John Lennon expressed his voice in many ways. In particular, John, who invited reporters to a hotel suite in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with an invitation saying, “Come to John and Yoko, who are honeymooning in a hotel bed,”performed a bed-in performance with Ono.

They ran a peace campaign that took advantage of the public’s interest in them, and he ran large-scale anti-war advertisements in 12 cities around the world, saying, “If we can bring peace to this world, we will gladly become clowns of the world.”He also conveyed his message through his music.

But one day, John Lennon was shot dead in front of his house. His last photo was of him signing an autograph for a fan. However, the man receiving his autograph in the photo was the murderer who murdered him. And unfortunately, the reason why John Lennon was murdered is still unknown.

And last winter, 53 years after his death, in November 2023, a new song by the Beatles, which was thought to never be released again, was released. This was a song created by restoring a demo tape of John Lennon singing while playing the piano with AI assistance, and adding the harmony of members in their 80s.

Lastly, on the broadcast, he imagined what kind of activities John Lennon would have been doing if he had been alive at the time and expressed his regrets about the world he dreamed of and the music he wanted to deliver. And now that the world he hoped for has not yet arrived, the meaning of his message of peace and love has become even greater and attracted attention.
