[TV Talk] “If you get older, will you become an adult?” Kim Nam-gil and Lee Sang-yoon asked, ‘Will you leave something behind?’

What is a real ‘adult’? Will I become an adult when I get older? What does it mean to become an adult? Actors Kim Nam-gil and Lee Sang-yoon seek out and ask adults on the street on behalf of wandering youth. ‘I Will Leave Anything’ talks about what the world looks like when we take a step closer to their lives.

MBC’s new liberal arts program ‘Leave Anything’ (directed by Kim Jong-woo), which first aired on the 8th, is a four-part program in which actor Kim Nam-gil rides a motorcycle through remote areas across the country with his friend Lee Sang-yoon, meets mentors of our time, and tells stories about the real world.

The same goes for the planning intention that PD Kim Jong-woo revealed during the production presentation. The explanation is, “I wanted to convey the meaning of the path of life that I feel and feel while riding a bike and finding a teacher on the road. I wanted to create a work that asks questions to adults who walk a different path.”

Kim Nam-gil and Lee Sang-yoon search together for answers to life’s concerns through various ups and downs, including getting wet in heavy rain and falling, while traveling from the DMZ in Yanggu, the northernmost part of the Korean peninsula, to the rough unpaved roads of Jiri Mountain.

The faces and life trajectories of the people the two met are diverse. A Paro-ho postman, a doctor visiting remote villages, a huge wall climber, and even a best-selling author. Their life is closer to a life like a dirty antique, valuable only for the time it has passed, rather than a life of beautiful and extravagant luxury.

Captain Park Jeong-heon and author Jeong Ji-ah, whom we met at Jiri Mountain, are also people who sublimated the pain of youth into the weight of adulthood. Captain Park Jeong-heon lost eight of his fingers in 2005 while rescuing a junior who fell into a crevasse at Cholatse, Everest, known as the ‘Devil’s Wall’. He felt that the lesson of his life was that “fall is also a process of climbing.”

Jeong Ji-ah, author of the best-selling novel ‘Father’s Liberation Journal’, owes her generosity to the pain she was born with. When she was struggling to escape from the shackles of being a ‘partisan’s daughter’, she began writing without knowing whether it was an essay or a novel.

Kim Nam-gil and Lee Sang-yoon receive the stories of those who stand on the borderline between immature youth and ‘adulthood’ and ask the adults on the street. The story of a job seeker who repeatedly fails to find a job, a person in his 20s who is worried about not having a dream, and a youth who worries about how to live as an adult to become a true adult are embroidered.

Each of them gives an answer that they project into their own lives. Dr. Yang Chang-mo, who said, “I lived a life without a dream, but I found this dream because I lost my way,” advised, “To find your way, you need the process of getting lost, and you need the courage to lose your way.” . Mr. Park Jeong-heon said, “The precious time in my life was the time when I experienced pain and frustration,” and “Even if I fail, it’s a shame. I have to try to fail more.”

After the broadcast, viewers responded by saying, “I started to look back at myself.”It is evaluated that a documentary with special meaning was created by combining the calm and quiet rural atmosphere with the words of adults who seem indifferent and give warm advice.

Kim Nam-gil said at the production press conference for ‘I Will Leave Anything’, “After watching the ‘Adult Kim Jang-ha’ documentary, I thought I would like to meet someone who can answer the question, ‘What kind of adult is a good adult?’”

He said, “I learned that it is not only great people who change the world. Everyone does their best and changes the world with sincerity. Nothing can beat consistency. The accumulation of doing the best you can in life in your position has made you what you are today.”emphasized.

Lee Sang-yoon also said, “I met people who live in various environments and make various choices. I hope many people will see this. I am a person who never had any worries, but through this program, I may have worries about my life again. By looking at various things, I can learn about each person’s own personality.””I hope you enjoy this program in your own way,” he said.

Parts 3 and 4 of Kim Nam-gil and Lee Seung-yoon’s road documentary ‘Leave Anything’ will be broadcast at 8:40 pm on the 15th and 16th.
