(Xports News Reporter Myung Hee-sook) Group Twice’s Nayeon won a ‘debt investment’ lawsuit related to default of 600 million won in debt.

According to the legal community on the 19th, the 13th Civil Affairs Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court ruled that Mr. A, Nayeon’s mother’s former lover, lost in the lawsuit against Nayeon and Nayeon’s mother for the loan amount.

Mr. A filed a lawsuit, saying, “I must repay the 600 million won I borrowed from Nayeon.” However, although the court acknowledged that Mr. A had transferred more than 500 million won to Nayeon over 12 years, it ruled that there was insufficient evidence to recognize this as a loan.

Mr. A sent 535,908,275 won to Nayeon over a 12-year period from 2004 to 2016. Additionally, Nayeon and Nayeon’s mother are known to have paid 115,612,093 won with a credit card in Mr. A’s name over a six-year period from 2009 to 2015.

Mr. A filed a lawsuit against Nayeon and Nayeon’s mother in January last year. At the trial, she said, “At the time, at the request of Nayeon’s mother, I lent her the necessary funds, including living expenses,”and “I promised to repay Nayeon, who was her trainee, the money when she debuted as a singer, but Nayeon did not keep her promise.””I violated it,” he claimed.

However, the court did not acknowledge Mr. A’s claim, saying, “There is no evidence to recognize this as a loan.”In addition, he said, “Considering that Mr. A and Nayeon’s mother were in a romantic relationship at the time, we cannot conclude that this was a loan,”and judged that it was paid for living expenses.

This ruling was confirmed, and Mr. A also did not appeal the first trial ruling.

After TWICE Nayeon’s lawsuit victory became known, fans also took a breather. On this day, fans posted a statement on the community bulletin board saying, “Since the court ruled in Nayeon’s favor in the ruling on Nayeon’s ‘600 million dollar debt’ lawsuit, we hope that Nayeon will no longer experience emotional distress due to personal issues.”

In addition, JYP Entertainment told Xports News on the 19th, “The ruling has already been finalized and concluded, so we have nothing to say as it has nothing to do with the artist’s entertainment activities. However, in the case of defaming or insulting the artist through speculative posts, etc. “We will take firm legal action against this,” he said.
