Singer and actor Seo In-guk will appear in the musical ‘Monte Cristo’.

According to an official on the 11th, Seo In-guk was cast as the main character ‘Edmond Dantes/Count of Monte Cristo’ in the musical ‘Monte Cristo’, which will open at the Chungmu Arts Center Grand Theater on November 18.

‘Monte Cristo’ is a work based on the full-length novel of the same name by French writer Alexandre Dumas, and its themes are love, betrayal, revenge, and forgiveness. The work, which will enter its sixth season in 2023, is expected to see new changes in everything, including directing and staging.

Seo In-guk plays the role of Edmond Dantes, a promising young sailor, and the Count of Monte Cristo, who escapes from prison 14 years later and vows revenge.

Seo In-guk returns to the musical stage after 12 years through ‘Monte Cristo’. Seo In-guk made his musical debut in 2012 by playing the role of Kang Hyun-woo in ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata’.

Meanwhile, Seo In-guk made his face known to the public by winning Mnet’s ‘Superstar K’ in 2009. Since then, they have been loved with many hit songs such as ‘I’m Calling’, ‘I Love You U’, and ‘Spring is Coming’.

Seo In-guk, who made his presence known as an actor by appearing in tvN’s ‘Reply 1997’ in 2012, appeared in various works such as ‘Master’s Sun’, ‘High School King of Conduct’, and ‘Squad 38’. Seo In-guk will appear in TVING’s original series ‘Lee Jae, I’ll Die Soon’, which will be released in December.
