On the morning of the 19th, a production presentation for the Netflix original series ‘Thief: The Sound of the Sword’ (directed by Hwang Jun-hyuk, hereinafter referred to as ‘The Thief’) was held at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. Actors Kim Nam-gil, Seohyun, Yoo Jae-myeong, Lee Hyun-wook, Lee Ho-jeong, Kim Do-yoon, Lee Jae-gyun, Cha Yeop, Cha Chung-hwa and director Hwang Jun-hyuk attended the event.

‘Thieves’ is an action drama about people who come together to protect their precious people and their home in Gando, a lawless land where Chinese people, Japanese money, and Joseon people gathered in 1920.

Kim Nam-gil plays the role of Lee Yoon, the leader of a group of thieves. A person who was reborn from a slave to a Japanese soldier to a bandit and chose to live a life so that he would no longer be deprived and suffer.

Regarding the reason for choosing ‘The Thief’, Kim Nam-gil said, “There are many stories set in the 1920s, but I have never seen a work made while advocating the Western genre. I was attracted to the genre.”

He also said, “I felt that the action part was special because the weapons and tools were different due to the thieves’ tendencies and characteristics. It also contained various groups of people living in this era. I thought people who watched it would find it attractive.”

Expectations for gun action also soared. He emphasized, “The firearm that best expressed the era was the Winchester long gun. We paid a lot of attention to the long take action. The gun action was done all at once rather than disconnected.”

‘The Thief’, a Korean-style western action drama that will cover the Chuseok holiday, will be released on Netflix on the 22nd.
